Charlottesville wants more Stimulus Money

People's Republic of C'ville wants more of your money.

Charlottesville leaders are frustrated with the lack of federal stimulus money arriving.
To date, the city has received about $1 million in direct stimulus money, which is primarily intended for transit.
The city has a number of major infrastructure projects it would like funded, including an overhaul of Charlottesville's stormwater system. Money is also needed to revamp public housing sites.
"We can use an infusion of these federal dollars to run with to create jobs or retain jobs, to rebuild our infrastructure, and the reality is that it's just not going to come as fast as a lot of us had thought," Charlottesville Mayor Dave Norris said.
Norris says the city will not receive all the money it asked for. City councilors will get a full report on the stimulus money on Monday.

  1. Aw whats the matter PRC, are you upset that Daddy O isn't gonna solve all the worlds problems like he promised. Yes you still have to pay your mortgage, and Yes you still have to be a valued employee or your emp will show you the door, and Yes you still have to make your car payment.

When you wait at the government teet like a baby waiting for milk you deserve what you get including the small print (as the auto industry is learning) or in some cases, you deserve what you don't get.
